We studied about reading music during the theory music class. We also copied our AA'BA' songs to the draft paper given by Mr. Herry. Then during the instrument class we tried playing our AA'BA' composition on our respective instruments.
I finished my composition on the previous lesson. I think the result of my composition is pretty good.
I will continue to practice playing my composition on my instrument at home.

October 5, 2011
During today's theory music class we learned the term 'diatonic scales', which consist of major and minor scales and different types of songs like rondo, sonata and concerto. Then, Mr. Herry gave us an example of a rondo (not exactly rondo but AA'BA'). Then, at the instrument class we did our AA'BA' composition.
I did pretty well in this lesson. I did my research on the song types but it is not quite enough. Then, I finished the composition in instrument class.
I will do my own composition on the AA'BA' song and practice more on composing songs.

"Serenade" Video 4
Reflection:
This is my fourth practice video for "Serenade" by Franz Schubert. I guess I did this better than the previous videos because I received an email from YouTube saying that my video can be threatened with copyrights. I still need to pay attention to the dynamics and avoid making mistakes while playing.
"Serenade" Video 3
Reflection:
This is my third try on the same day for "Serenade" by Franz Schubert. I did better than the first and second video in this video but I still need to pay attention to the dynamics more. I also need to avoid making small mistakes while playing this song.
"Serenade" Video 2
Reflection:
This video is recorded based on my second try on "Serenade" by Franz Schubert of the day. I still made a few mistakes while playing the song. I payed attention to the dynamics more but I still missed some of them. Maybe this is because I didn't practice the song on the previous day.
"Serenade" Video 1
Reflection:
I recorded this video based on my practice on "Serenade" by Franz Schubert. In this video I made some mistakes while playing and sometimes I unintentionally ignored the dynamics written on the music sheet. I will try to pay attention to the dynamics more.
7th Chords Video 2
Reflection:
This is my second attempt on playing the 7th chords (major, dominant, major minor, half-diminished and diminished) from C to B. There are a few mistakes that I made while practicing. I didn't play them perfectly but I played them better than my first video on the 7th chords.
7th Chords Video 1
Reflection:
I recorded this video in my first try on 7th chords: major, dominant, major minor, half-diminished and diminished from scales C to B. I made a few mistakes but not that many. I guess sometimes when I'm bored and I practiced them helps me to play them pretty well.
Scales Video 2
Reflection:
This is my second try on playing the C to B scales. It's not really perfect but at least it's better than the first video. I still have some trouble with my fingerings when doing the backward scales, especially the F scales because I'm only used to play the scales with sharps, not flats.
Scales Video 1
Reflection:
This video is my first try on doing scales from C to B. My fingerings pretty messy because I seldom practiced scales with my piano teacher. I always got the backward scales messed up just because of my fingerings. Even though I got the E and B scale correct, they are the only ones that I got correct. The rest of it I got them wrong. I will try to avoid those mistakes for the next time.

Chromatic Scales Video 2
Reflection:
This is my second time playing 2 scales of chromatic scales. I tried to play them better than the first video. It turns out that I made fewer mistakes than the first attempt. I played them more smoothly when I played the scales backwards. Before I got confused with the fingerings, but in this video I played them with fewer mistakes.
Chromatic Scales Video 1
Reflection:
This is my first attempt on playing 2 octaves of chromatic chords. I made a few mistakes while playing it, especially with my fingerings. I'm not used to chromatic chords before and my fingerings are messed up, like when the transition from B to C, there's no black key, so I must use my index finger to press the B note, but I sometimes missed it.
September 28, 2011
In today's theory and instrument class, all of us practiced our songs because the assessment is postponed until Monday. I practiced in front of the class for two times, once in front of the counselor and the other one in front of 2 music teachers.
I did pretty well with few mistakes while playing the song. I still need to memorize and practice more of it.
I will practice more often and try my best to be able to memorize the song.
